01 / The system
Developed in Australia by Glass Block Technologies International (GBTI), the EzyLay Glass Block Installation System is a custom-built metal framing system that provides two distinct options for your glass block feature: mortar or silicone.
Both systems provide rigid construction while allowing the blocks to expand or contract within the metal frame. The frame isolates the non-structural glass blocks from the surrounding building, helping the completed panel to be properly sealed and flashed in the same way as an aluminium window.
EzyLay systems have been rigorously tested for wind loading and water penetration and are designed to meet applicable industry building requirements.
02 / Choose your finish
Both methods use the EzyLay aluminium frame and purpose-designed spacing components. The best choice depends on the finish, scale and installation approach required for your project.
A dry-assembled system suited to renovators and professional installers. It avoids mortar mixing, reduces preparation time and uses translucent silicone for a neat finish.
The traditional installation method uses specialised premix mortar, reinforcement and spacers within the aluminium frame to produce strong, professional joints.
03 / Queensland service
Glass Blocks Queensland offers a complete custom design and build service for the EzyLay Glass Block Installation System. Our qualified and experienced technicians can install the complete system, or we can manufacture and supply the frame for you to install the blocks yourself.
Smaller panels may also be suitable for prefabrication, allowing them to arrive as a prepared unit ready for placement into the building opening.
04 / Aluminium framing
The aluminium frame allows glass blocks to move independently of the surrounding structure while providing a reliable perimeter for sealing, flashing and fixing.
